Her pronunciation of words is so satisfying to listen to. Her music makes me feel like the biggest language, lyric geek lol she's so particular with everything she does!

In my opinion Melanie Martinez is one of if not the most misunderstood and mistreated artists of our time

Really love the fact that she's not scared to explore other aesthetic and type of music. Growing up with Melanie and her art is such a great flex. ✿｡•̀✧*☆◕

I listened to the whole alblum to cope with my grandmothers funeral and it helped so much that I replay it when I feel like crying.

Fun fact: this being the first song in portals, it begins with saying “death is life” and at the end of “womb” , the last song in portals, it says that as well. It’s like how she said in k-12, you start in the womb and end in the Tomb. She is symbolizing how death and life is a never ending cycle since she is immortal.

If you pay attention @4:16 you’ll notice she’s put 9 swords in crybaby. This could be seen as a reference to the 9 of swords tarot card which represents fear, anxiety, and things that keep you up at night. 9 of swords reversed represents overcoming darkness and once again seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I love it when artists incorporate hidden Easter eggs in their music videos. Good album all together.

I love this new era. The old songs were amazing, I loved them all. However, they were all childhood related. Melanie was proving closure to her childhood trauma, hence K-12. In this era, she has been able to move on, embracing herself as she is now. I love it.

I'm going to be honest, Melanie's new aesthetic frickin' scares me... but I am happy to see her growing! And yes I am absolutely horrified at what I just watched and I loved it! Amazing as always Mel! I am glad you "came back from the death" :D !!!
